From the Desk of the Chair, Russell Boyce

As preparations continue for what we are very confident will be a superb COSPAR 2021, the COVID19 situation continues to evolve. In Australia, we have truly “flattened the curve”, and very grateful for it, but at the same time are on guard against complacency, and mindful that other parts of the world are still struggling and struggling hard.

What does this mean for COSPAR 2021?

If all goes well in the world, COSPAR 2021 will be a major face-to-face gathering with top quality scientific content, excellent parallel workshops, and significant value-adding in terms of industry engagement, STEM outreach, some exciting leadership training and a LOT of fun. Australians are very serious about how we go about space research and innovation, but we are also very serious about how we go about our fun, and we want you to join us!

If on the other hand COVID19 continues to cause havoc for travel … then we accept the challenge and are excited about the opportunity to put on a partially-virtual experience that shows the art of the possible for bringing global communities together in this new world we find ourselves in.

Please take care and stay safe, in whichever country you reside, and join us safely in January / February 2021.
